Definition of Term: "Smart Chain"
The Smart Chain is a new way of wiring an organ console developed by WTC. The benefit of the smart chain is that it does not require individual wires for each control, but merely the same two chain wires run to a maximum of 224 devices on each chain. Depending upon the current load of each device, the power wires should only be run for the appropriate number of devices to meet NEC codes before being connected back to the Smart Power Distribution board. This makes for a total of 4 wires required for each control, Power + and - and Data + and -.

PAL is an acronym for POET Audio Link. PAL is a Walker Technical Co proprietary digital audio interface, it is capable of 24 bit Audio at 96Khz. Cat5e cable can carry up to 32 channels of audio up to 300’, each wire pair carries 8 Channels of digital audio in one direction. A Single Fiber can carry 8 Channels of audio several thousand feet.
